Our Bucktons brand has continued to develop over the years to get us where we are today. We take the knowledge from the past and innovation of the future to create products which are great for your birds.
Our voyage of nutritional discovery started 200 years ago when George Buckton founded a general merchants company in Hull, renowned for shipping quality produce and an emporium of exotica from distant lands.
As his schooner sailed into history, this pioneering and enterprising spirit provided the foundation for the Bucktons brand as bird lovers know it and love it today.
The company was sold to the Hutchison family early in the 20th Century and launched into the pet industry under the name of George Buckton Ltd in the early 1960s.
As the market developed, we built relationships with key suppliers, sourcing the premium quality seeds and pigeon corn that would differentiate our foods and create a champion brand.
The company was purchased by Cranswick PLC which created the Bucktons brand in 1995 and then in 2012, by Westland Horticulture.
Westland has since developed the thriving Bucktons brand, embracing innovation whilst staying true to our original founding principles and maintaining our passion for sourcing, formulating and supplying the very best in bird feed.
